Prerequisites

48-Hour INITIAL B737-800 TYPE RATING

TYPE RATING PREREQUISITES:

Applicants must successfully complete all the requirements of Subject Module No. 0, Distance Learning prior to beginning ground training.

 

 

1)      To complete all the training and testing for an Unlimited B737 Type Rating and an ATP certificate in a Level C or Level D flight simulator –

 

The applicant must meet at least one of the following prerequisites:

 

a.       Hold a Type Rating for a multiengine turbine-powered airplane.

b.       Have been appointed by a military service as a PIC in a multiengine Turbine-powered airplane.

c.       Have at least 2000-Hours of flight time, of which 500-Hours must be in turbine-powered multiengine airplanes.

d.       Have at least 500-Hours of flight time in the B737-NG.

e.       Have at least 1000-Hours of flight time in at least two different turbojet airplanes requiring a Type Rating.

 

If one of the above criteria cannot be met; then:

 

2)      To complete all the training and testing for a B737 Type Rating with a 25 Hour Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) Limitation and an ATP certificate in a Level C or Level D flight simulator –

 

The applicant must meet the following prerequisites:

 

a.       A Private Pilot Certificate*, Commercial Certificate*, or ATP Certificate*,

b.       with Airplane Multiengine Land Rating, and*

c.       an Instrument Rating*

 

*   May include foreign equivalent pilot’s license pursuant to 14 CFR section’s 61.153 and 61.75. Student must provide a valid FAA foreign pilot verification letter issued by AFS-760.

80 hour INITIAL B737-800 TYPE RATING

This Initial B-737 type rating curriculum could have two different results dependent upon the applicant’s entry prerequisites:

1)  Unlimited Type Rating or    

2)  Type Rating with a 25 hour SOE limitation.

 

To complete all the training and testing for an Unlimited B737-NG Type Rating and an ATP certificate in a Level C or Level D flight simulator the applicant must meet at least one of the following prerequisites:

 

a.       Hold a Type Rating for a multiengine turbine-powered airplane.

b.       Have been appointed by a military service as a PIC in a multiengine Turbine-powered airplane.
